We have good news for you! The Archdiocese of Baltimore has announced that all parishes are now allowed to celebrate youth confirmations with the faithful, AND Archbishop Lori has delegated the faculty to confirm baptized Catholics to pastors through December 31, 2020.
We will celebrate the Rite of Confirmation as soon as reasonably possible with Fr. Isaac on our St. Agnes campus.
We are seeking input from families of youth that would have been confirmed this past April regarding when we will hold Confirmation. We would celebrate the rite mid-August. We hope the majority of families are comfortable with this plan, as we place highest priority on the entire class being confirmed together. The other possible timeframe is to Confirm in early October. If your family is among those affected, please complete THIS Google form as soon as possible to note your availability.
Confirmation preparation at St. Agnes & St. William of York is a program for teens grade 8 and above that engages the candidates in discussion, prayer, and fellowship. The program involves twice monthly formation and prayer small groups meetings, witness projects, a pilgrimage experience, and a retreat day. The date of the Rite is scheduled by the celebrating Bishops’ office. Registration opens Spring of the year preceding the Confirmation date, and closes when meetings begin in the year leading up to Confirmation. For any questions or to register your teen, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
All students desiring to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, First Holy Eucharist, or Confirmation must attend Catholic School or a Faith Formation Program for the year prior to the sacramental year as well as the sacramental year itself. During the sacramental year, students must also enroll in one of our Sacramental Preparation Programs. Sacramental Preparation is separate from regular Faith Formation, in accordance with the policies of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
