LATIN LANGUAGE, LYRICS and LITURGY in LENT

Have you ever wondered about the Mass parts we sing in Latin during Lent, what "tantum ergo" really means, or what Latin's relationship is to the Catholic Church and in particular to Catholic Liturgy?  Or perhaps you have wanted to learn how to say some prayers in Latin? Please join us at 2:45pm, Sundays in Lent for one hour in the Emmaus Room for a discussion of the Latin language and its role in the Catholic Church and Liturgy.

  • Week 4 (30 March):  Latin and the liturgy

  • Week 5 (6 April):  Practical introduction to Latin chants and singing

Presented by Dr. John Jefferson, Fr. Maximilian Jaskowak, O.P. and David Amann.
