Serve

Pastoral Council of St. Agnes and St. William of York

What is the Pastoral Council?
The Pastoral Council is comprised of parishioners of St. Agnes and St. William of York Parishes. The Council serves as a liason between the Pastor and parish staff and the parish body with the primary focus of crafting a vision for the future of our parish community. Terms are for three years. The Pastoral Council meets four times a year on Saturday mornings - January, April, July and November. Members of the parish Senior Leadership Team (SLT) serve as ex-officio members.

To serve on the Council, you must be a parishioner in good standing of either St. Agnes or St. William of York, at least 16 years of age, and a practicing Catholic who lives according to the teachings of the Church.
Qualities desired in members include a willingness to represent all parishioners, someone who is pastorally sensitive to the needs of the community, and someone who is willing to "think outside the box" to creatively address the needs of evangelization in the 21st century. You can nominate yourself or another parishioner by clicking on the Council Nominations button.

Lay Ministry

Our parish family is blessed by the many volunteers who give of their time and talents to lift up our faith community through fellowship, liturgy, catechesis, and evangelization. We'd love for you to be a part of our team! Call the Parish Office at 410-744-2900 for more information.

In May, 2021 Pope Francis formally established the Lay Ministry of Catechist in the Catholic Church. In formalizing this ministry, Pope Francis said "From the beginning, the Christian community was characterized by many different forms of ministry carried out by men and women who, obedient to the working of the Holy Spirit, devoted their lives to the building up of the Church. At times, the charisms that the Spirit constantly pours out on the baptized took on a visible and tangible form of immediate service to the Christian community, one recognized as an indispensable diakonia for the community.”

Community Service

Parishioners of St. Agnes and St. William of York are involved in many outreach ministries both in our local community and around the world.  We always welcome those who are interested in getting involved with these programs.  Below you will find a selection of these opportunities.  More information on how to participate can always be obtained by calling or emailing either Parish Office.

Our Daily Bread
Parishioners make casseroles for service at Our Daily Bread Center in downtown Baltimore.  Pans and recepies are provided after Sunday Mass and casseroles are delivered during the week.  We also need folks willing to drive the casseroles downtown.

40 West Assistance & Referral Center
Is the outreach ministry of the churches along the 40 West corridor.  40 West provides rental assistance, a food pantry, help with utility bills and many other services.  St. Agnes and St. William support 40 West through a yearly monetary commitment and monthly food collections.

Haiti
The parishioners of St. Agnes Parish support Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Desdunes, Haiti along with the schools associated with the parish. Each year representatives of St. Agnes visit Haiti and we welcome a visit from the pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul who shares with us a bit about his ministry in Haiti.
