Inclement Weather Policy for St. Agnes and St. William of York
The safety and well-being of our parishioners and visitors is one of our most important concerns. When weather and/or road conditions are adverse, activities or events may be canceled or postponed. The pastor in consultation with staff will make a determination regarding closing. Therefore, in the event of extremely bad weather on any given day, the following procedure will be followed:
If we are in the midst of a winter weather event: Mass is canceled and all parish activities are cancelled including Tuesday and First Friday Adoration. The announcement will be posted on our website (www.saintsaw.org/inclement-weather) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SaintsAW) prior to the next scheduled event or activity on our campuses. Please call before visiting the Office.
If a determination is made to close early: all parish activities are canceled including Tuesday and First Friday Adoration. The Office will be closed.
On Saturdays: if we are in the midst of a winter weather event, Saturday morning Holy Hour and Mass and Parish activities will be canceled. Determinations about Saturday evening and Sunday Masses are made by the Archbishop of Baltimore.
No event, including Mass, requires your attendance if you feel that weather conditions are dangerous. It is your right and responsibility to determine whether it is safe and/or wise to travel when road conditions may be hazardous. Those who choose not to travel because of unsafe conditions are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass. Weather related updates can be found at www.SaintsAW.org and on our Facebook page.
